TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A wildfire burning on the back side of the Huachuca Mountains was too isolated for firefighters to reach on the ground, according to Coronado National Forest PIO Heidi Schewel.

Several planes and helicopters fought the flames from above, but Schewel said firefighters will have to be dropped off early Monday morning to battle the blaze.

Fifty firefighters total will be flown in via helicopter as aerial crews assess the burn from above, according to Schewel.

An Air Attack Platform, which is essentially a pilot flying around the fire, directing communication responded Sunday evening. Two helicopters and two air tankers were also used.

U.S. Forest Service, Fort Huachuca Fire Department and Wilcox Fire Department are working together to battle the flames.

The fire burns across an estimated three to five acres, according to Schewel. It is a higher elevation fire, burning mostly brush and timber, not grass.

Schewel said the flames do not pose a threat to any homes around the mountain, because of its isolated location.

Garden Canyon had to be evacuated, according to Carol Capas with Cochise County Sheriff's Office.
