BRUNSWICK, NC (WECT) - A man from Supply, originally arrested for two counts of attempted murder, is now being charged with the murder of Iqueisha Collins.
Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff's office say William Calvin Steward, 36, fired shots into an occupied vehicle Friday night. One of the two victims died late Monday night while the other has been upgraded to fair condition.
Steward has been charged with one count of murder, one count of attempted first degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, one count of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling/moving vehicle and one count of maiming without malice.
According to arrest warrants, Steward reportedly fired a rifle into a car where Deontray Bryant and Iqueisha Collins were both sitting.
Both victims were wounded and air lifted to the hospital. Officials say they were both in critical condition as of 11 a.m. Saturday.
According to detectives, Bryant was shot in the leg, he's listed in fair condition. Collins was shot in the head.
The incident happened Friday around 11 p.m. at Steward's home on Eastfield Lane. According to deputies, the victims were attending a party at the house.
