Man on bike hit by vehicle, taken to hospital

A man riding a bicycle on Oleander Drive was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle around 2 p.m. Friday. A man riding a bicycle on Oleander Drive was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle around 2 p.m. Friday.

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A man riding a bicycle on Oleander Drive was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle around 2 p.m. Friday.

According to Officer Piner, it is unclear if the man riding the bike was on the sidewalk or road.

Piner said the man riding the bike injured his lower leg, but is expected to be okay.

According to officials, no charges have been filed yet in this case. It is still under investigation.

Authorities believe the man riding the bike may have had alcohol in his system, but that has not yet been confirmed.
