Police are investigating a reported rape at Flower Hospital on April 1.
A rape was reported to Sylvania police on April 2, but according to police reports, it happened at 10:15 a.m. a day earlier. Police say the alleged victim was a patient at the time of the rape. The accused rapist was also a patient. Police Chief William Rhodus says the victim told two workers at the hospital, who then told a security guard, who alerted the police.
Sylvania police have not made an arrest yet, but Rhodus says they hope to make an arrest very soon. He says the rape is currently being investigated and they are in the process of talking to the suspect, victim, and possible witnesses.
ProMedica says a full internal investigation is currently under way.
