WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Ryan Foster allowed just two hits over eight shutout innings as UNCW blanked visiting Campbell, 3-0, on Tuesday at Brooks Field as the longtime rivals renewed their series.
The Seahawks halted a brief two-game skid with the home win, improving to 15-16. The Camels saw their three-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 22-12.
Foster (1-1), who was making his fourth career start, walked two, hit one and struck out four as he carried a no-hitter into the seventh. With two out, he surrendered a double to center field by Elijah Trail to end the no-hit bid.
Kelly Secrest nailed down his second save of the season, retiring both batters he faced.
CU starter Andrew Witczak (2-3) took the loss after being chased in the first inning. The lefthander allowed two runs on two hits and a walk before exiting the game.
Corey Dick collected three hits on the game for UNCW while Robbie Thorburn added two.
Trail and Matt Parrish had CU's only hits on the evening.

How it happened: UNCW jumped on Witczak for the early lead as Dick and Luke Dunlap had RBI singles for a 2-0 lead. With one out, Terence Connelly was hit by a pitch to ignite the outburst.
Inside the box score: Campbell actually got its leadoff hitter on base three times, but was just 1-for-7 with two outs … Campbell did not advance a runner on the night and only had one runner reach scoring position … Foster held CU to 0-for-7 with runners on base … He finished with 10 ground ball outs and eight fly ball outs.
