CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – Town officials voted Tuesdaynight to do infrastructure work on Clarendon Ave.
According to the Town of Carolina BeachGovernment, NC's Facebook page, town council voted 3 to 2 to do allinfrastructure work on Clarendon Avenue and to not address bike paths at thistime.
In addition, construction bids for a community poolcame in at $1.3 million to $1.57 million.
The Ad-Hoc Aquatics Committee recommended thatcouncil make a motion to allocate up to $1.4 million to build the pool andbegin the vetting process with low bidders Thomas Construction Group andParagon Building Corporation, but council voted to shelve the item until thetown handles pressing infrastructure issues.
Council members Steve Shuttleworth and Sarah Friede voted against themotion.
