First Alert Weather: Perfect Azalea Festival weather on the way

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Some cool air aloft could allow for the development of some showers today, but high pressure will soon be the dominate feature in the forecast. Expect sunshine and warm conditions deep into the weekend.

WEATHER RADIO WEDNESDAY: With severe weather season upon us the First Alert Forecast Team is doing everything we can to make sure you are 'severe weather aware'. A weather radio is a fantastic way to be sure you know exactly when a weather watch or warning is issued. Join the team this evening from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Walgreen's at College and Oleander to either pick up a weather radio, or to make sure the one you have is programmed correctly and ready to alert you to severe weather,

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A weak upper system and cold air aloft might by just enough to set off some isolated light showers this evening.  Otherwise it will be partly cloudy and cool with lows in the upper 40's.

THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY: Perfect weather!!! A high pressure ridge controls the weather and keeps any potential rain making systems away through early next week.  Each day features lots of sun.  Highs range from the mid 70's Thursday to near 80 Friday through Sunday.  Lows will be in the mid to upper 50's.
