WHITEVILLE, NC (WECT) – The Whiteville City Schools Board of Education is expected to select a new superintendent Wednesday.
The board will hold a closed session meeting at 6:30 p.m. to vote on the candidate, according to Rhonda Bullard-Dutton, a district spokeswoman.
A reception will follow the meeting, giving community members an opportunity to meet the new superintendent. Dutton said the candidate's name is not being released.
Current Superintendent Tom Hager is retiring in June.
He has been with the school system for five years and worked in education for 35 years.
