And Then You Shoot Your Cousin (Yes, that's the title) drops May 13, says drummer Questlove.

The Roots released their first track, When the People Cheer, via Soundcloud this week.

Pitbull debuts official FIFA World Cup Song

On Monday, Pitbull released the peppy tune that will serve as the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.

The song is called We Are One (Ole Ola) and features Jennifer Lopez and Brazilian pop star Claudia Leitte.

What starts out with whistling, cheering and a few Pitbull rhymes in both English and Spanish quickly escalates into a catchy refrain, followed by J. Lo's vocals, and then finishes with the powerful voice of Claudia Leitte singing in Portuguese. Overall, it makes for a killer collaboration and represents host country Brazil quite well.

However, the official World Cup song is not to be confused with the official FIFA World Cup Anthem, which is set to be released later this month.

The anthem, called Dar um Jeito (We Will Find A Way), is a collaborative effort between Avicii, Carlos Santana, Wyclef Jean and Alexandre Pires.

Both songs will be featured on the 2014 FIFA World Cup Album, set to be released on May 12.

Jack White aiming for world record on Record Store Day

Singer-songwriter Jack White is celebrating this year's Record Store Day in "record" fashion.

White, who was last year's official "Record Store Day ambassador," is adding some extra flair to the day by aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest-setting record.

If all goes according to plan, White will record a live version of the title track of his upcoming album, Lazaretto, at 10 a.m. on April 19 at Third Man Records in Nashville. Then the masters of the 7" single will be sent to United Record Pressing and be ready to deliver to fans just hours later, at 4 p.m.

Ticket sales to see White record the record-breaking single are available to Third Man Vault members only. To view membership options, visit

For those who don't have tickets, the "world's fastest record" will be sold from the Third Man Records Nashville store front for as long as there is demand, even if it takes all day, according to a press release.

And Finally ...

When you're a professional musician, the show always goes on. Even if the world is quite literally falling around you.

When a 5.1 magnitude quake hit Los Angeles March 28, the LA Philharmonic was in the middle of a performance of Ravel's Daphins and Chloe.

So, the orchestra played on.

The Philharmonic posted the actual video recording of the performance and, with the sounds of listeners shuffling for the exits, the orchestra continued flawlessly.
