COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Authorities in Columbus County have wrapped up a two-month investigation into the distribution of controlled substances impacting the area.
According to Lt. Steven Worthington with the Columbus County Sheriff's Office, the investigation revealed that Mack Ezzell Freeman Jr. was responsible for distributing cocaine.
Worthington said a citizen complaint prompted detectives to the area.
Authorities conducted a search warrant at Freeman's home where they found cocaine, a stolen gun and $12,000 in cash.
