WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – William & Mary exploded for 11 runs in the middle three innings, powered by Ryan Hissey's five runs batted in, as the Tribe evened the Colonial Athletic Association series with a 14-2 win over visiting UNCW on Saturday at Plumeri Park.
The Tribe snapped a three-game losing skid with the win and ran its record to 19-10 overall and 3-1 in the CAA. The Seahawks, meanwhile, slipped below .500 at 14-15 and evened its conference mark at 2-2.
Tribe starter John Sheehan (3-2) struck out eight and allowed just two runs on seven hits and a walk over seven innings.
Jordan Ramsey (1-3) took the loss for UNCW, surrendering six runs on six hits, three walks and two hit batters. Ramsey went just five innings.
Hissey held game-high honors with three hits, including his first homer of the season in the fifth of Ramsey that plated three runs. Tim Hoehn and Derek Lowe each had two hits and Hoehn knocked in two runs.
Casey Golden, Luke Dunlap and Gavin Stupienski each had two hits for UNCW.

How it happened: William & Mary scored three in the fourth, three more in the fifth on Hissey's homer and five in the sixth inning.
Inside the box score: The Seahawks were 2-for-14 in RBI opportunities and just 3-for-18 with runners on base … The Tribe struck for five two-out RBI's.
Notes: Terence Connelly extended his hitting streak to seven games with a single in the third … Ryan LaGrange pushed his on base streak to 21 games … UNCW entered the game having not committed an error in its last four games and the league's top fielding team, the Seahawks committed four errors … Tribe pitchers Sheehan and Nick Brown combined to walk just one hitter and strike out 11 Seahawks … Freshman Teddy Cillis made his first appearance on the mound for UNCW since Feb. 22 and struck out two ins 1.1 innings.
