Evansville carpet cleaners stay busy in the wake of the floods

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) -

All of the flooding problems across the Evansville area have kept local carpet cleaners busy.

Besides ridding you of the inconvenience of standing water in your basement, or damp carpet... water removal teams say their most important objective is to stop the threat of mold developing in your home.

Mold can pose serious health risks.

Hasgoe President Matt Goebel says standing water will seep into the walls of your home, and if you don't act now, Goebel says you may regret it later.

"Three or four or five weeks from now, unfortunately, we start getting the calls where people are having, you know, some odd smells and seeing some black on their walls," says Hasgoe President Matt Goebel. "So, doing it properly right up front may cost a little more up front. But in the long run, it's much safer."

If you believe mold is a threat to your home, you need to call your local water restoration service, immediately.
