WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The parade of days in the 80s (inland) marches on! ...thanks to a warm high pressure system anchored off our coast. Starting this weekend, but more so next week, a series of cold fronts will bring a return to slightly cooler temperatures and slightly higher rain chances.
THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY: Expect partly cloudy skies and rain chances near 0%. Mild southwest breezes will ensure a continuation of above-average temperatures (lows Thursday night: mainly lower 60s; highs Friday: 80s inland and 70s for most beach communities given an active sea breeze).
WEEKEND: Cooler but nothing drastic for early April! Saturday will feature variable clouds, a low 30% chance of a shower or thundershower, and highs in the 70s. Sunday will likely have variable clouds, a 30% chance of a shower, and daytime temperatures - just a touch cooler - mainly in the 60s.
A PEEK INTO NEXT WEEK: A storm system will bring a 40 - 50% chance of a shower or thundershower Monday and lesser chances for Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will reach highs in the 70s Monday but a cooler air mass could push the numbers back to the 60s by Wednesday.
