7 nabbed for illegal drug dealing activity

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The Columbus County Sheriff's Office announced they arrested seven people Wednesday on charges related to prescription medication, cocaine, and marijuana in and around the Whiteville area.

Mark Randall Singletary, 51, Lucy Soles Singletary, 47, Thomas Harris, 51, Tracey Lashonda Murphy, 35, and Lois Rankins, 54, were all charged with the following crimes and placed in jail under a $75,000 bond:

  • 1 count of Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Possession
  • 1 count of Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Sell
  • 1 count of Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Deliver

The Singletarys, Harris, Murphy, and Rankins were illegally in possession of Hydrocodone and Oxycodone tablets. Rankins was also charged with abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Roscoe McCullum, 60, was charged with the following crimes and placed in jail under a $30,000 bond.

  • 1 count of Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Possession
  • 1 count of Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Sell
  • 1 count of Trafficking in Opium or Heroin by Deliver
  • 1 count of Sell and Deliver Marijuana

McCullum was in possession of Hydrocodone tablets and marijuana.

James Henry Smith, 25, was charged with one count of sell and deliver cocaine  and placed in jail under a $25,000.00 secured bond.

  • 407 North Franklin Street Apartment A, Whiteville, N.C.  
  • 12 Loop Road, Brunswick, N.C.
