PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Workers with the Pender County Department of Social Services will finally be getting paid for months of overtime.
More than 14 employees have been waiting months to be paid a total of $27,617.77. Some of the employees are waiting to be paid for 300 to 400 hours of work. Now, wect.com has learned that employees should see that compensation this week.
Commissioners voted to go ahead and pay employees now, instead of waiting for an audit to be completed as was previously planned.
Much of the overtime comes from statewide issues with the new NC Fast system that caused DSS employees across the state to work hours of overtime.
