SPD seeks suspects in West Shreveport parking lot shooting

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Shreveport police are looking for suspects in a shooting in a crowded parking lot that injured a local woman early Saturday morning.

Officers were called to the parking lot of the Monkhouse Seafood Diner in the 5300 block of Monkhouse Dr. just after 4:30 a.m. to investigate reports of gunshots being fired there, according to SPD Cpl. Marcus Hines.

Officers arrived and learned that as many as 150 to 200 people were gathered there when several gunshots rang out.

25-year-old Monaaye Clark was struck by one of the bullets. She was taken to University Health Shreveport with a gunshot wound to the leg and is expected to survive.

Investigators have gathered information that indicates there had been an argument between 2 groups of people in the parking lot moments before the shots rang out.

Authorities are now focusing their efforts on identifying and apprehending those involved in the shooting. Detectives are urging anyone with information to call Caddo Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or on their website at www.lockemup.org
