Wilmington Housing Authority reschedules meeting

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Housing Authority is changing the date of a meeting they were planning on having Thursdayafter WECT pointed out that meeting would violate the law. We received an emailat 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday announcing the Thursday meeting. State law requires a48 hour notice for special meetings.

WHA Board Chairman Jeff Hovissaid not everyone who was supposed to receive the meeting notice did, andtherefore the board will meet on Friday.

The Authority also listed the Hampton Inn on 17thStreet as the location for the meeting instead ofthe board room at the Wilmington Housing Authority. Hovis explained that theboard will meet in closed session to interview candidates for their vacant CEOposition. Holding the meeting at the hotel will allow other candidates a placeto get ready according to Hovis.
