Late night shooting leaves one dead, two injured

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Cumberland County Sheriff's Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting that has resulted in the death of a local man and the injury of two other people.

According to officials, the suspect opened fire into the residence on the 8900 block of Durant Nixon Road, which killed 27-year-old Dwayne Larry Sawyer.

Injured in the gunfire were 22-year-old Dominique Wiley and 33-year-old Darius Elliot. Wiley and Elliot have been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment to their injuries. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detectives are searching for 32-year-old Roderick Nathaniel Davis for questioning in connection to connection to the shooting.

Davis was last seen driving a gray Chrysler PT Cruiser or Chevrolet HHR. Davis is a black male, six feet tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds. He has brown eyes and long black dreadlocks.
