Member of outlaw biker club wanted in thefts

GALLATIN, TN (WSMV) -

Police believe a member of an outlaw motorcycle club recently stole several bikes that had been advertised online.

Officers are looking for Matthew Williams, 29, who is a member of the "Sin City Deciples," Bill Storment with the Gallatin Police Department said in a news release.

Williams is now suspected in several motorcycle cases. In February, he allegedly used Craigslist to arrange a test ride of a Harley-Davidson and never brought it back.

Investigators also believe Williams is behind a much more violent theft in Bowling Green, KY, on Jan. 20. In that case, a seller refused to allow a test ride but was shot in the leg and the motorcycle was stolen.

Police have investigated similar thefts in Gallatin last year and in Lafayette in February, Storment said.

Williams is wanted on attempted murder charges in Kentucky, along with theft charges in several parts of Middle Tennessee.

Other people in the Deciples have been indicted on federal charges, and all members should be considered armed and dangerous, Storment said.

Williams may be driving a black GMC Yukon or black Ford Expedition.

Anyone with information can call Gallatin police at 615-452-1313.
