Woman accused of assaulting three people with a knife at family gathering

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A woman was arrested Saturday night after she allegedly assaulted three family members with a knife.

According to Wilmington Police, Jacqueline Denice Williams was at a family gathering in the 800 block of N. 5th Avenue when she suddenly grabbed a knife and began waving it at a juvenile.

Family members quickly confronted Williams who allegedly threatened someone else with the knife and tried to slash another juvenile.

Williams then punched a kid in the head and stabbed her sister in the arm, according to authorities. Family members were able to separate all of those involved in the fight.

Williams got into her car and left but was located by police and arrested.

Both victims were taken to the hospital and later released.

Williams was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
