BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - A former Police Captain from Boiling Spring Lakes was arrested Sunday on assault and battery charges for his alleged involvement in a fight.
Jonathan Cummings filed an arrest warrant against Curtis Ledbetter saying he hit him in the mouth with his fist and spit on him.
Cummings was also placed under arrest for similar charges, including assault and communicating threats.
According to an arrest warrant filed by Ledbetter, Cummings spit on him and stated that "he was going to kill him."
The confessed killer's behavior angered the judge so much that he asked prosecutors to take the case to trial instead of accepting a plea deal.
