AUGUSTA, GA (WFXG) -
The Richmond County Board of Education Public Safety confirms that a Richmond County teacher was arrested on Friday.
Vernell Morgan was arrested during a school field trip to Athens.
Morgan was charged with reckless conduct and theft by shoplifting.
She taught home economics at Glenn Hills High School, according to RCBOE officials.
The Athens Clarke County website reports that Morgan is out on a $2,500 bond.
