WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Four people injured in a shooting in Wilmington have been treated and released from the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The shooting took place Friday evening in the 3800 block of Prices Lane.
Police said a large crowd of people began fighting at a house located at 3813 Prices Lane.
Police found one woman on the scene with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Three other victims showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds, while police were on the way to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Police are looking for a burgundy Honda with 3 or 4 black males in the vehicle. The vehicle was last seen heading towards Mosley Avenue. The driver of the vehicle is described as having short dreads.
This is the second shooting on Prices Lane in the past 15 months. In January of 2013, police and suspects engaged in a shootout that ended in a stand off.
Venus Mitchell, a resident of Prices Lane, said her vehicle was hit by shots fired during the fray. Mitchell and her children narrowly avoided danger.
"He looked me dead in the face and as soon as I passed by him, he just started shooting," said Mitchell about one of the suspects. "I don't if he was shooting at random people or if he had somebody he was intending to shoot at."
Mitchell said she's sick of violence in the area. She said she wishes criminals would have more respect for the community.
"Kids was getting off the school bus. I think we need a lot more patrolling around here. It's just getting ridiculous with this gang stuff and stuff like that," said Mitchell.
