WAKE FOREST, NC (WECT) - An updated app for the North Carolina Department of Transportation's Ferry Division will now include real-time updates for all of its ferries.
The app, designed by Wake Forest-based software company Sugar Maple Interactive, will use information provided by the NCDOT to make it easy to find ferry schedules, if the ferry is running on time, and if there's any closures.
The app also provides ticket pricing, the ability to reserve tickets, and information on each terminal including directions and phone numbers.
"The NC Ferries app is designed to be the mobile go-to resource for allpassengers who ride one of North Carolina's coastal ferries," said DavidMcWilliams, CEO, SugarMaple Interactive. "We recognize how important real-time informationis, and that's why we have been making efforts to improve upon the informationwe provide."
The app is for iPhone users only and can be downloaded from the App Store by searching for "NC Ferries."
