CHARGED: 5 charged with kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Detectives with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office arrested and charged five people Tuesday in connection to kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.

According to arrest warrants, the group of people were threatening to use a hand gun and pellet gun. It is unclear if anyone was shot, but warrants show at least two people were assaulted during the incident.

The arrest warrants say the suspects got away with cash and a television.

The following were arrested and charged in connection to the incident:

Colin Bennett

  • kidnapping
  • robbery

Jacqueline Brown

  • assault with deadly weapon
  • kidnapping

Christopher Kelly

  • assault with deadly weapon
  • kidnapping

Kristen Lewis

  • assault with deadly weapon
  • kidnapping
