WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The low pressure system that has brought thick clouds, soaking showers, and chilly breezes to the area since Sunday will loosen its grip on our area Wednesday and Thursday. The result: a trend toward drier and warmer weather...
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY: Clouds may remain stubborn but any leftover showers will likely be light and spotty. Temperatures will fall to lows in the upper 30s and lower 40s with north breezes Tuesday night and then rise to the upper 50s and lower 60s with south breezes Wednesday afternoon.
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: Spring's official arrival is 12:57pm Thursday and our weather will match the new season nicely! Expect clear to partly skies in this period with highs mainly in the upper 60s Thursday and mainly lower 70s Friday. Rain chances will be near 0%.
EXTENDED FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS: Another run into the 70s looks probable for Saturday but scattered showers may develop along an approaching cold front. Post-front, expect a cooler trend for Sunday (daytime temperatures in the 50s to low 60s) and Monday (highs in the 40s and 50s).
