Silver Alert canceled for missing elderly man from New Hanover County

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons has canceled a Silver Alert for Willie Lee Ashworth.

Ashworth was found early Tuesday morning.

Ashworth, 78, was believed to be suffering from dementia or some other cognitive impairment according to the Silver Alert.

The alert was canceled at the request of the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.
