Commissioners reject all bids for old hospital demolition
The building will remain on the market for at least 60 days.
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Board of Commissioners in Brunswick County has rejected all bids received for the old hospital demolition project.
Staff solicited and received seven bids for the demolition of the old hospital, located on Highway 17 in Supply. The prices ranged from $519,056 to $935,000.
All of the bid prices significantly exceeded the county's pre-solicitation cost estimates for the project; however, there was some ambiguity in some quantity items in the bids.
The board has rejected all bids they received for the project.
Concurrent to the county's receipt of the prices, the firm that has been marketing the building received a 60 day extension on their agreement with the county; therefore, the building will remain on the market for at least 60 days.
