EPD: Odor leads to meth lab bust

An Evansville man is arrested on meth charges.

The Evansville Police Department says 52-year-old Anthony Mayes was arrested on meth related charges after he was caught with a one pot meth lab.

EPD says a patrol officer was in the 100 block of E Maryland around 2:00 a.m. Monday morning when he smelled a strong chemical odor. Other officers responded to the area and found the source in an out building behind 114 E. Maryland.

Police say officers found Mayes in the building with an active one pot meth lab.

Mayes was taken into custody and charged with Manufacturing Meth-Class A Felony and Dealing Meth- Class D Felony.
