'A Dream on Fire' stars Don King and was directed by Michele Seidman.
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A movie filmed in Wilmington has been selected for this summer's Avignon Film Festival in France.
A Dream on Fire tells the story of an author in Argentina during the Dirty Wars in the 1970s. The author comes up with the idea for a great novel but gets denounced by a stranger, arrested, tortured and eventually disappears. Don King plays the lead character, the author, in the film. He said he went to a "dark place" to play the character, who is beaten in two scenes in the film.
Michele Seidman is the film's director and executive producer. She tells us it's exciting for the film to be selected for the festival.
Seidman said they will do a public screening of the movie in Wilmington after the film fest.
