Celebrate St. Paddy's in downtown Wilmington Saturday

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - No matter what your ancestry accounts might show, Saturday through Monday, you'll see someone at every turn claiming Irish.

Downtown Wilmington will be transformed into a St. Paddy's Day hot spot as a parade and festival are scheduled for Saturday.

The St. Patrick's Day Parade in downtown Wilmington, NC begins at 11 a.m. at North Front Street, traveling south to Dock Street, then circling back north on Water Street.

The St. Patrick's Day festival follows the parade at Riverfront Park (Water Street at Princess Street) at noon.

Live entertainment includes, L Shaped Lot, The Blarney Broughs, The Walsh Kelley School of Irish Dancing, and the UNCW Slainte Irish Dance Club.

Food, beverages and crafts will be available for sale. It will take place from noon to 6 p.m.
