Open House for our Weather Network Program

We are having an Open House for new and current members of the First Alert Weather Network.

When Thursday April 10th, 2014
6 PM to 8 PM
Where WECT/WSFX Studios
322 Shipyard Blvd
Wilmington NC

We're having an Open House for a limited number of Weather Network Reporters so we can get to know you, especially anyone new. We'll also provide you with tips and suggestions for how to cover weather in your community.

The First Alert Weather Network is our community weather observer, spotter and reporter program. We let YOU become part of the First Alert Weather Team. Not only can you provide us with daily data, but your video and picture updates from your community will become part of our newscasts.

Visit our site to learn more about the program and get familiar with some of what you'll learn during the Open House.

During the Open House you will :
-Meet new and current Weather Network reporters
-Take a tour of our studio and newsroom
-Get a Behind-The-Scene look at the First Alert Weather Center
-Watch a live television newscast from our studio
-Get tips and info on how to send video/reports
-Learn what to report during severe weather
-Take a profile picture

Light refreshments will be offered during the Open House. Picture and video may be taken during the Open House. We may also be taking profile pictures for our web site or on-air graphics.

    Following the passage of a cold front, a pattern of slightly cooler and less humid air will emerge for much of next week. The best chance to see shower and storm activity will be Tuesday, otherwise expect mostly dry conditions. The typical summer pattern return for the weekend as heat, humidity and storm chances return.
