CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC (WECT) – No charges will be filed against two people involved in a shooting that happened in Cumberland County Monday night.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Gerald Hilton Lord, 48, pulled into the wrong driveway when delivering a carryout order for a restaurant around 8:30 p.m.
The sheriff's office said Thomas Earl Jacobs, 18, asked Lord to get off his property and the pair exchanged words.
Lord left, made the delivery and then returned to Jacbos' residence, where an argument began.
According to the sheriff's office, Lord allegedly put a gun in the teen's face. Officials said the gun fired twice, and both men were hit. One of the bullets grazed Jacobs' neck and the second hit Lord in the forearm.
Instead of filing charges in this case, investigators advised both men to seek a magistrate to settle the matter between them.
