WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Officers with the Wilmington Police Department are investigating a shooting that happened Friday evening.
According to police, Dedrick Bryon McFadden, 29, was shot twice while riding his bike on Mercer Avenue in Wilmington. Officials said he was hit in the knee and ankle.
Sgt. Pettus with the Wilmington Police Department said a dark colored vehicle drove past the man on the bike and shot at him three times.
Detectives found three .45 caliber shell casing at the scene. Police do not have any suspects at this time.
McFadden was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
