BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Prom will take place in schools across the country over the next few months. Of course the longstanding tradition is all about fun and stepping out in style, but all the buzz can turn to burden for those who are on a budget.

This week, South Brunswick High School and the school's prom coordinator will open the "Prom Closet" for business. It will open Thursday, March 6, 3:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. and Friday, March 7, 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

The event will take place in the South Brunswick High School cafeteria.

The "Prom Closet" is open to ALL young women in Brunswick County grades 8-12 searching for a formal or prom dress, shoes, and accessories. The best part--items in the "Prom Closet" are FREE!

The closet organizers are seeking donations from the community to make this special project a reality. Community members who wish to make donations to the event can drop them off at South Brunswick High School by Thursday, March 6.
