WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A coastal low pressure system will keep temperatures low and rain chances high through the end of the work week. A high pressure system will bring a drier and milder trend for the weekend.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Expect continued mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of patchy light rain and drizzle. Temperatures will be cold but above freezing for most areas. Lows: mainly mid and upper 30s. Winds: north 10 to 15mph.
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: Expect clouds and periods of chilly, soaking rain to redevelop. Total rainfall may exceed one inch. North and northeast winds could gust more than 35mph at times. Highs: mainly 40s Thursday and 50s Friday.
WEEKEND: Leftover moisture may contribute to some fog or a straggling shower early Saturday. Otherwise, expect partly cloudy skies for the weekend. Temperatures will grow to more seasonable levels, too, with highs in the 60s likely for both days.
