WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington City Council members began entering their chambers with added security Tuesday.
City officials said extra security will be tested as a trial version this week.
In the coming weeks, the security measures will become permanent for council meetings.
The extra measures include the addition of metal detectors, extra police officers, and limited access to enter and exit the meetings.
