WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Don't be surprised if you see men wearing high heels in downtown Wilmington come April.
Men from around the area will be taking part in the 6th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event.
The event takes the phrase, "You can't really understand another person's experience until you've walked a mile in their shoes," literally.
Men will walk in high heel shoes to raise awareness about problems with gender relations and sexual violence against women. Proceeds benefit the Rape Crisis Center.
The event is April 5 in downtown Wilmington. The walk starts at 8 a.m. For more information www.supportrcc.org
