The free waste disposal last from April 14 to April 19 at the Brunswick County Landfill.
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Spring cleaning can be both invigorating, to shake off the dust and get rid of the old, but also be a hassle when dealing with the excess waste. Brunswick County is helping county residents solve the excess waste problem.
Brunswick County residents will be able to take advantage of a free week of trash disposal at the county landfill. All you need is your excess stuff and proof of Brunswick County property ownership.
Residents can dump all materials, except regular household trash and new construction debris for free. Items such as metal, tires, electronics, latex paint, and yard debris will be accepted. Commercial vehicles will be charged normal tipping fees.
The free waste disposal last from April 14 to April 19 at the Brunswick County Landfill. The landfills address is 172 Landfill Rd NE, Bolivia, NC 28422. The landfill is open Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
There will also be another free separate waste collection day for hazardous household items like paint, stains, insecticides, herbicides, household cleaners, pool chemicals, and aerosol cans. Call the Brunswick County Solid Waste Department at 910-253-2524 if you have question regarding acceptable items.
This collection will take place at Shallotte Middle School on April 19. The school's address is 225 Village Road SW, Shallotte, NC. Items will be accepted from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Items must be labeled when dropped off.
