CLARKTON, NC (WECT) – Police in Clarkton have been able to identify four men wanted for questioning, thanks to the help of some WECT viewers.

The Clarkton Police Department said the group was wanted for questioning in connection to a breaking and entering at Bo's Food Store in Clarkton.

After speaking with the men, Clarkton Police Chief Battle doesn't think they are responsible for the breaking and entering incidents authorities are investigating.

The men in the photographs were seen inside of Bo's Food Store in an "Employee Only" area just hours before the break-in. The employees had never seen them before, and the men did not buy anything.

Battle said the whole situation could have just been a misunderstanding.

According to officials, four men broke into Bo's Food Store Jan. 12, breaking into the safe and the ATM. They took an undisclosed amount of money and got away in a black Lincoln Town car with South Carolina plates.

Battle said the thieves are professional. They use sledge hammers, bolt cutters, walkie-talkies and they even cut the alarms inside the store.

According to Battle, the men could also be linked to three or four other breaking and entering incidents in Horry County, South Carolina, Tabor City, Whiteville, and Clarkton.
