First Alert Weather: Colder weather set to return, shower chances increase

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Monday's mild and sunny weather will give way to more clouds, shower chances, and colder weather in the days ahead. 
 
TUESDAY:  Increasing clouds. Afternoon highs should top 60.  Late evening shower chances increase (30%) with temps dipping into the lower 40s as a chilly drizzle or light rain falls.

WEDNESDAY: A system will move off the coast of Georgia bringing a continued good chance of showers (60%). Another round of very cold air will blast the northeast U.S. but only a piece of this cold air will make it this far south.  Cold showers are possible through mid afternoon as temperatures remain stuck in the 40's.  Some clearing occurs during the afternoon as high struggle to reach 50. 

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: Chilly but dry.  A very cold start Thursday morning with lows in the upper 20's. Look for sunny to partly sunny skies with highs in the low 50s.  Expect chilly nights with lows near freezing. 

THE WEEKEND: Scattered showers Saturday and partly sunny Sunday.  Continued cool with highs in the mid to upper 50's.  Lows in the upper 30's and low 40's.
