WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Hundreds of hopefuls stood in line Sunday night for their chance to score a part in the second season of Under the Dome.
Actors and actresses auditioned for the parts of stand-in and extras. Some are fans of the show. Others just hope to get their shot in the limelight.
"This is my first time doing something like this," said Jaime Verteramo. "So I'm just hoping for the best."
Others are veterans and passed out advice through the crowd.
"Don't look for the camera," said Joe Montani of the Wilmington Casting Call. "Let the camera find you."
Montani has been doing extra work for seven years. Now, he manages a Facebook page called "The Wilmington Casting Call" which acts as a reference site for hopefuls trying to get into the business.
David Alexander Coley was an extra for season one and knew he had to be a part of the action again this year.
"I'm a fan of the show and there are some crazy things that are going to happen this season and I'm just excited to be a part of it," said Coley.
Extra hopefuls said the hardest thing about the casting call was waiting in line.
"Once you get past the line, it's quick and painless," said Sabrina Miller, who traveled all the way from Pennsylvania for her shot on the show.
"It goes really quick," said Stephanie Gupton. "They ask you brief questions about yourself and about the show."
The second season of Under the Dome premieres in June.
