SOUTHPORT, NC (WECT) - The Smithville Township/Southport Black History Committee in conjunction with NC Maritime Museum at Southport proudly presents the second annual Black History Weekend, this Saturday and Sunday, February 22 & 23.
A variety of multimedia exhibits and events will be held in four Southport locations.
The public is invited to celebrate
the history of Smithville Township and the impact of the black experience and its
historical influence in our town, from the 1700's to the present.
International Longshoreman's Hall on West 10th Street
**Gifted artist who created a work of art depicting the Twin Towers drawn with the handwritten names of the victims.
Southport Community Building Annex - next to the Margaret and James Harper, JR. Library
Keziah Park -corner of Moore & Lord Street
