COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A Columbus County man was taken into custody five months after a warrant was originally drafted for his arrest as part of Operation Locktoberfest 2013.
Jose Luis Flores, 43, was arrested Thursday and charged with 1 count of Sell and Delivery of a Scheduled 2 Controlled Substance, oxycodone. He was wanted as part of the September drug round up by the by the Columbus County Sheriff's Office.
Flores sold the oxycodone tablets to a confidential informant who bought the drugs in order to resell them. This transaction was made by the Columbus County Sheriff's Vice-Narcotices Detective Dustin Fowler.
Flores was arrested during a traffic stop near the North and South Carolina boarder. He had been dodging deputies by living in different homes inside and out of the county.
Originally, 41 people were arrested in connection to the two-month investigation in which undercover agents spent about $10,000 to buy drugs.
