First Alert Weather: gusty showers and thunderstorms likely Friday

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A cold front will bring some unsettled weather as it quickly passes through southeastern North Carolina from early to mid-afternoon Friday.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Expect variable clouds and, with mild southwest breezes of 5 to 15mph, balmy lows mainly in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Additionally: isolated showers and locally dense coastal fog.

FRIDAY: Expect showers and storms - primarily from late morning through mid-afternoon. variable clouds, brisk and balmy southwest breezes of 20mph+, and highs in the 60s and 70s.

SPECIFIC FRIDAY RISK LEVELS: Showers = HIGH. Thunder and lightning = MOD. 30mph+ gusts = HIGH. 45mph+ gusts = MOD. Large hail and tornadoes = NOT ZERO BUT LOW.

WEEKEND FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS: Post-cold front, expect daily highs for the weekend days mainly in the 60s with low shower chances. Nights will feature lows in the 40s.
