A man was arrested Monday night after allegedly trying to rob a Cracker Barrel in Mt. Juliet.
The business on South Mt. Juliet Road was closed at the time, but a manager inside the store says a man armed with a handgun started trying to break in around 10:30 p.m.
The manager called 911, and a police officer who happened to be nearby got the call.
Police say the man was not able to get inside the restaurant and jumped into a car.
Officers quickly spotted the car at a nearby gas station.
Investigators have identified the man as 28-year-old Thomas Barnes of Lebanon. He was arrested on charges of aggravated robbery and theft of property and booked in the Wilson County jail.
Police say the handgun used in the crime was stolen.
Two other people were found with Barnes, but they will not be facing charges.
