First Alert Weather: spring-like weather rolls on!

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Got spring fever? A warm air mass will promote above-average temperatures through the rest of the week. Then, a cold front will pass on Friday.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Expect variable clouds, a 20% chance of showers, a chance of fog, light breezes, and lows mainly in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

THURSDAY: Areas of coastal fog are possible. Otherwise, expect variable clouds, a 20% chance of showers, mild breezes, and inland highs in the 70s and beach highs in the 60s.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Areas of coastal fog are possible as balmy south breezes push over the nearby cool ocean. Expect very mild lows mainly in the upper 50s and lower 60s.

FRIDAY: Said cold front will bring scattered showers and possibly a few strong, gusty thunderstorms. Brisk and balmy southwest breezes will boost temperatures back to the 60s and 70s.

EXTENDED FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS: Post-cold front, expect daily highs for the weekend days mainly in the 60s with low shower chances. Daily highs could dip to the 50s early next week.
