BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A custodian at West Brunswick High School was arrested Monday in connection to several sexually related charges with a student.
Valentine Rivera, 42, has been charged with sexual activity with a student by school personnel, sexual battery, and felony disseminating pornographic materials.
According to the arrest warrants, Rivera is accused of showing the victim a nude photo of himself and forced the victim to touch him in an inappropriate way.

"Safety of our students is our number one priority."
School officials released this statement regarding the situation, "It is most important for our community to know that WBHS officials and the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office responded swiftly after receiving information about these serious allegations. The alleged behavior is not tolerated at our school or any school in Brunswick County."
According to the school records, Rivera was hired in November 2010 as a substitute custodian and became full time in January 2013.
