WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – For Christian White, team manager for the Hoggard Men's basketball team, playing in a game has always been a dream of his. This past weekend Chris's dream came true. Chris is a student at Hoggard High School, enrolled in the special needs program.

The game played between Hoggard and South Brunswick High Schools was your normal game until late in the 4th quarter, that's when the game became a that will not soon be forgotten.

"We were all just hoping he would play and score, because that's been his dream now for awhile in high school," said sophomore player Jack Bagley.

After the team warmed up, they ran back into the locker room to talk to Coach Brett Queen. That's when they saw Chris.

"Coach told me to suit up. So I did. I really really wanted to play. I wanted to make them happy," said Chris.

Chris White came in off the bench and had his time to shine. His first few shots were off target, but then from about four feet from behind the 3-point line, he sank his first of two buckets.

"They went crazy!" said Chris.

Chris received a standing ovation as he left the game with only seconds remaining.

For Chris, his two three-point shots, weren't the best part of the game.

"Being with my coach and my team. Because I love them," said Chris.
