Pender Co. men involved in quadruple traffic fatal

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WECT/WITN) – Two residents from Pender County were killed over the weekend in a traffic accident in Onslow County.

According to WITN, 24-year-old Saquan Nelson of Maple Hill ran a red light at the intersection of Highways 53 and 258, just west of Jacksonville Saturday evening. Investigators say Nelson's car crashed into an SUV.

WITN is reporting that Nelson and two others, Jonathan Cooper, of Maple Hill, and Darius Williams, were riding with Nelson and were also killed in the accident.

Mother Rachel Delisle, 30, was killed in the SUV. Her 6-month-old son was the only survivor in this accident.

The father of their child told WITN he's not angry at what happened to his wife. He went on to say that his heart goes out to the other families involved.

According to WITN, Nelson was due in court Monday after having been indicted on prior charges that include driving while impaired, reckless driving, fleeing to elude arrest and speeding.

Witnesses reportedly told Highway Patrol the car was driving close to 100 mph weaving through traffic.
